Co-president Joanie Evans featured in MyGwork’s list of trail

Our co-president, Joanie Evans, has been featured in MyGwork’s list of trailblazing LGBTQ+ women, in celebration of Lesbian Visibility Week.

The list features 100 women “making a difference in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space around the world”.

The article describes Evans as “not only an influential member of trailblazing lesbian team, Hackney Women’s Football Club – the first open and out gay team in Europe – but Evans is also the co-president of the Federation of the Gay Games, dating back to 2014.”

“She was also the only Black woman on the Federation of the Gay Games board until 2017, now there are two under her leadership.” it continues.

Describing her activisim for the LGBTQ+ community, she says her goal is “to create an open and inclusive playing field for all, particularly for women, regardless of how they identify."
