FGG statement about proposed changes to Valencia’s Trans Law
The Federation of Gay Games stands unapologetically for the human rights of all LGBTQ+ people - especially trans people, who remain among the most marginalized members of our community. We categorically condemn the draft amendments to València’s Trans Law.
When València was chosen to host the 2026 Gay Games in November 2021, it was under a previous administration. Since then, our cooperation agreement - covering venues, security, essential public services, and the ability of trans people to attend and participate - has remained in place, and we have guarantees that the municipal and regional authorities will honor their commitments.
We want to make it very clear to our attendees, both from Spain and around the world: all participants will be able to enjoy a safe and inclusive event where they are guaranteed to attend and participate as their chosen gender identity.
