Pride Cheerleading Association pledges $4,500 to support the FGG Scholarship Program
Following Gay Games XII: València 2026, the Pride Cheerleading Association (PCA) has announced its intention to donate $4,500 to the Federation of Gay Games (FGG) Scholarship Program, following 28 days of fundraising during the Games.
The contribution was raised by more than 140 Charitable Cheerleaders, with donations coming from supporters around the world, both online and in person. After completing the accounting process across multiple currencies and forms of payment, PCA is now prepared to transfer the funds to the FGG Scholarship Program.
PCA said the fundraising effort was inspired by the work of the Scholarship Program and its support for people whose ability to live authentically remains restricted or criminalized in many parts of the world. The organization’s VolunCheerleaders also sought to continue supporting the Gay Games and its principles of Participation, Inclusion, and Personal Best.
According to PCA, the donation is intended to help reduce financial barriers to participation, particularly for sports and culture participants from underserved countries. Scholarships can help make it possible for people to experience the Gay Games as a space to participate authentically, connect with an international community and have their achievements celebrated.
Beyond the financial contribution, PCA emphasized the importance of its continued partnership with the FGG and a shared commitment to supporting positive change within the LGBTQ+ community.
PCA has confirmed with the FGG Treasurer that a Zelle transfer is the preferred method for the donation and expects to transfer the funds shortly after receiving formal acceptance. The organizations will also work together with the FGG Officer of Global Engagement on a public announcement.
Reflecting on Gay Games València 2026, PCA closed its letter by celebrating the partnership and looking ahead to Perth 2030 and future Gay Games.
